How to Make a Return
All returns must have proper authorization before they can be accepted by our receiving department. If you’d like to return a product please call us at (877) 356-2508 to request your return authorization.

Restrictions & Limitations On Our Guarantee
Our Biostone Filters and Calcium Cartridge Inserts are consumable components and are not returnable if used due to sanitary health issues. Filters that are packed with an ionizer are subject to the refund stated below. All used Biostone Filters and Calcium Cartridge Inserts purchased separately are non-refundable.

100% of the purchase price will be refunded for all ionizers - whether used or not - under our 30-Day Money Back Guarantee. A filter fee of $25 will be deducted from the total refund amount for any machine that is ordered with an optional .01M filter upgrade. Although we do not charge a restocking fee, we reserve the right to deny any return for damaged units, or to charge a repair fee for any ionizer that is returned in any condition other than “like new.”

The customer is responsible for all shipping and insurance costs for returning an item.

Damaged Equipment Policy
We always respect our 30-Day Money Back Guarantee. We do not charge a 15% restocking fee as do many of our competitors. But, this guarantee is based on the return of any ionizer that is in the same new condition as when it was sent.

Any ionizer that is returned in any condition other than “like new” will be subject to a restocking and repair fee to be determined by the extent of the damage but not to be less than 10% of the total cost of the ionizer. When this situation arises we will call you to discuss our findings, identifying the cost of the damage, and ask whether you would like to receive the unit back instead of paying any fees. Any ionizer that is returned in complete inoperable condition, or is significantly damaged beyond repair, will be sent back to the customer and no refund shall be offered. In order to respect our 100% refund policy we ask that you take good care of the unit while it is in your custody

Return Guidelines
We will do everything within our power to insure that you are completely satisfied with your purchase. If you’re not happy, we’re not happy. We only ask that you abide by the following guidelines. They are for your protection, as well as ours.

• Our customers may return any product - unless otherwise stipulated - for credit, exchange, or a full refund (less any shipping costs) within 30 days of receipt.
• Opened consumable items will only be exchanged/returned if item is defective or spoiled. Otherwise, we cannot offer a refund on any consumable product that has been opened/used.
• Prior to returning any product, please contact us for additional instructions (by phone, or by our Contact Page). We want to do the right thing for you, but we will need to know exactly what the problem is before we can commit to a specific course of action.
• Shipping charges will only be refunded if the incorrect item was shipped, or if the item was received damaged or spoiled.
• The customer is responsible for all return shipping and insurance costs for returning an item. We are not responsible for the loss/damage of an item being returned to us. Please be sure to ship the package back using a carrier with order tracking capabilities; UPS, USPS or Fed-Ex. This will provide each party with dates for proof of delivery and return date.
• We must reserve the right to deny return of items which have obviously been damaged or other products which show evidence of wear, neglect or abuse.
• Refunds will be issued in the same manner in which the products were purchased.
• Since individual tastes vary from person to person, we are not able to accept returns of any opened product based upon customer taste preference. Although many manufacturers guarantee the taste of their products, we do not. Anyone wishing to return a product because they do not like the taste will be referred to the product manufacturer.
• Although many manufacturers guarantee the effectiveness of their products, we do not. Of course, we only sell items that WE deem useful in alkalizing/detoxifying the body. Â We are unable to accept returns based upon a customer’s perceived effectiveness of the product. Since one’s diet and training routine are also of major significance when assessing the effectiveness of a product, we cannot accept a return of an opened product based upon its perceived effectiveness. All such requests for returns will be referred to the product manufacturer.

We try to the best of our ability to ship orders on the same day they are placed:

• UPS shipped orders must be received by 4:30PM CST
• USPS shipped orders must be received by 3:30PM CST

We are offering Free Shipping on any order that includes one of our water ionizers. Not just to the Continental United States like our competitors, but free shipping to ANYWHERE! Of course, International orders are still subject to any Customs charges that your delivery may incur.

You can expect shipments from Jupiter Venus.com to arrive from our location in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Depending on inventory availability, you may receive split shipments (two separate packages) on orders with items from different manufacturers. We will inform you of any such split orders as they occur. You will not be charged any additional shipping fees for split orders.

Orders to Hawaii and Alaska will ship via USPS Priority Mail only. Orders to Canada and other International destinations will be shipped via USPS First Class or Global Priority. No UPS service will be offered to non-continental US or International orders.

I. Payment methods and Billing

If you wish to purchase Products at the Site, you must provide valid credit or debit card information on the Site’s order form. We currently accept the following credit or debit cards: VISA, MASTERCARD, AMERICAN EXPRESS, and DISCOVER. By submitting such credit or debit card information, you give JupiterVenus.com permission to charge your purchases to the card that you designate on the order form. We reserve the right to cancel any order, any time and for any reason. If your credit or debit card has already been charged and your order is cancelled, you shall receive a credit to your card account in the amount of the charge. We will not be responsible (i) for any charges that your card issuer may apply to you as a result of our processing your order, (ii) if your card issuer refuses or fails to authorize payment by you, or (iii) for any delays or non-delivery of Products that may arise due to any validation checks that may be carried out regarding your payment or identification.

We also accept payment through PayPal, check/money order, and e-Check. For all payments made by personal check we will deposit the check in our bank and wait till the check clears our bank before we ship your order. A money order will be treated as an immediate payment, and there is no waiting period for clearance. e-Checks payments are made by supplying us the necessary information to draw a bank draft against your bank accout for the amount of the order. By usng this payment method you are authorizing JupiterVenus.com to create a draft check in the amount specified on the order, which is then deposited into our account as a personal check. Payment using e-Check will not be considered to be available until we deposit the draft into our bank account and is cleared, usually within 3-5 business days - we will ship your order at that time.

All other methods of payment including, but not limited to, gold, silver, and other items of barter will be accepted only after communication is established with a representative of JupiterVenus.com, and a agreed-upon exchange rate is met.

II. Order Acceptance

Please note that there may be certain orders that we are unable to accept and must cancel. We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to refuse or cancel any order for any reason. For your convenience, you will not be charged until your payment method is authorized, the order information is verified for accuracy and your order is shipped.

Some situations that may result in your order being canceled include limitations on quantities available for purchase; inaccuracies or errors in product or pricing information; product or ingredient restrictions mandated by local, state, national or international regulations; or problems identified by our credit and fraud avoidance group. You may return any item purchased from The Alkaline Shop for any reason within thirty (30) days of purchase. For online and catalog orders, the Product ship date is the date of purchase. You will receive a full refund for unopened items in the original form of payment. IV. Shipping and Handling; International Orders

The prices displayed on this Site are quoted in U.S. dollars and are valid and effective only within the United States of America, and such prices do not include shipping and handling, if applicable, which will be added to your total invoice price. You are responsible for the payment of any shipping and handling charges and state and local sales or use taxes that may apply to your order.

If you place an order for shipment to an international address, you will be responsible for paying any VAT and other taxes, tariffs, import or export duties, and other similar fees imposed on such orders. XII. Severability; Interpretation

XIII. Entire Agreement

This Agreement constitutes the entire and only Agreement between JupiterVenus.com and each user of this Site with respect to the subject matter of this Agreement and supercedes any and all prior or contemporaneous Agreements, representations, warranties and understandings, written or oral, with respect to the subject matter of this Agreement.

XIV. Miscellaneous

Water Ionizers are different than other water purification methods

Ionized Water is a Powerful Antioxidant

Stage One:Â Filtering

It’s an accepted fact that our tap water, filled with industrial waste and discarded pharmaceuticals, requires intense filtering for optimum health. It’s also a fact that many people aren’t even aware of exactly what different types of water filters can and can’t remove. So, the first part of any good water treatment involves the filtering of the incoming water supply.

The first thing a water ionizer does to your input tap water is filter it using a combination of bacteriological and particulate control incorporating silver-activated charcoal, the most accepted and proven method on the market. About The Incoming Water
There are many devices that claim the above qualities, and to the beginner’s eyes they might all seem similar. Some use magnets, some magnetic rock, some ceramics.

However there is a very clear way to demonstrate the effectiveness of the water ionizers. For this we use the two measurements of pH (acid/alkaline) and Oxidation/Reduction Potential.

When your tap water arrives at your home, it will usually be a little over neutral in pH ~ around 7.5.

It will, however, be robbed of its electrical negative charge and will almost always have a ‘positive’ ORP . This means it has no antioxidant abilities and cannot assist your body in the fight against oxygen free radicals. On the contrary, it actually robs you of energy as you drink it.

The measurement of this positive or negative charge is expressed in millivolts, so an ORP reading on our ORP meter of tap water will most likely show around +350 millivolts. After it has been through Ionizing Water filters it will most likely show anything from -150 to -650mv (depending on the amount of soluble minerals in the water and on the original pH of the water).

Here’s where it gets a little tricky. Some device vendors claim antioxidant effect because their water units reduce the positive charge (+350mv). What they don’t tell you is that they don’t reduce it enough to turn it negative. ONLYÂ when your water shows a negative ORP (less than zero) is it antioxidant capable. Claims to the contrary are like saying “Well, your car is still muddy, but look how well we partially cleaned it!”

It’s a similar situation with alkalinity. As we already mentioned, your water is already arriving at your sink with a mild alkalinity. That’s because local authorities ‘doctor’ it with lime to keep it the alkaline side of acid, for two reasons;

• They are bound by law to do so
• Acid (less than pH 7) water is a willing host for microorganisms, bacteria and viruses.

Scientists at Shiga university in Japan have conducted long term research into optimum alkalinity of drinking water for health, and have determined it to be from pH 8 to 9.5. Our own research has confirmed that no other devices we know of are capable of delivering a precise pH with a range all the way from neutral up to pH 10. If you are considering other devices please keep these two important facts in mind.

• You need a negative charge in your drinking water for it to be at all antioxidant.
• You need the ability to adjust pH for each individual user or family member.

The success of Ionizing water filters worldwide is due primarily to the marriage of technology and age-old water principles in the form of computerized individual pH and ORP capabilities. The precision of this onboard computerized measurement cannot be duplicated in systems without electricity, no matter what they say.

Stage Two:Â Ionizing

Your water now enters the ionization chamber. Here it has a very specific low voltage electric current passed through it, which causes the soluble minerals in it to be attracted to either a positive ‘pole’ or a negative ‘pole’ depending on their own valiancy, or electrical energy signature. When this happens, the water separates into alkaline and acid streams. We drink the alkaline water and we use the acid water externally, for skin, healing, plants and disinfecting.

This function is under the watchful eye of the ‘brains’ of the water ionizer, a solid state onboard computer (MICOM) that determines the exact voltage for each user, chosen by a simple press of a button.

The real beauty of this process is the fact that the minerals in the water that flow out with the alkaline water are all beneficial, while the minerals that flow out with the acid water are, in the main, not. Thus, you drink purified, beneficially mineralized alkaline water. Minerals and mineral compounds such as fluoride, flow out in the acid water.

At the same time, the alkaline water undergoes a profound change. From ordinary H20 it becomes OH- . This means it becomes a powerful antioxidant formula at an atomic level. It also means that it changes the way its molecules group together. Instead of ‘clumping’ in large groups of 12 molecules, it gathers in much smaller (around half the size) groups. This is why people refer to the experience of drinking from water ionizers as effortless, or ’silken’.

This change of molecular form also means, according to Dr. Hayashi, of the Japanese Water Institute, that it gains the ability to penetrate tissue and cell walls far more easily. This is why many people experience detoxification effects in the first few weeks of drinking the water, as it infiltrates areas that have not been reachable with ordinary H2O. This is what is called ‘Microclustered‘ water.

If in doubt, ask for a test of your water ionizer. This will demonstrate to you whether you are getting what you pay for.

• Gas State
  The bond between the hydrogen and oxygen that form the water molecules is a weak attraction. When water is heated to boiling, and steam begins to form, the molecules separate and are no longer attached. This causes a gas to form. In this gaseous state, the water molecules have been heated by energy and are moving very fast. Water in the form of gas also forms when it Evaporates from a liquid . This occurs in the Water Cycle as oceans, seas, lakes, and smaller bodies of liquid water evaporate in the heat of the sun..
• Liquid State
  Water in the liquid state flows. In a liquid state the molecules are moving more slowly than they move in the gaseous state because they have lost some of the heat energy.
• Solid State
  Water that is frozen is in the solid state. When water is cooled down below its freezing point it becomes a transparent crystalline solid. As the water cools, the molecules in the water are slowed by the loss of heat energy and do not move very fast. Water in the solid state has an interesting property, as it freezes it expands, and as it returns to the liquid state it contracts.

The Simple Definition
pH is a logarithmic measure of hydrogen ion concentration, originally defined by Danish biochemist Søren Peter Lauritz Sørensen in 1909,

pH = -log[H+]

where log is a base-10 logarithm and [H+] is the concentration of hydrogen ions in moles per liter of solution. According to the Compact Oxford English Dictionary, the “p” stands for the German word for “power”, potenz, so pH is an abbreviation for “power of hydrogen”.

The pH scale was defined because the enormous range of hydrogen ion concentrations found in aqueous solutions make using H+ molarity awkward. For example, in a typical acid-base titration, [H+] may vary from about 0.01 M to 0.0000000000001 M. It is easier to write “the pH varies from 2 to 13″.

The hydrogen ion concentration in pure water around room temperature is about 1.0 x 10-7 M. A pH of 7 is considered “neutral”, because the concentration of hydrogen ions is exactly equal to the concentration of hydroxide (OH-) ions produced by dissociation of the water. Increasing the concentration of hydrogen ions above 1.0 x 10-7 M produces a solution with a pH of less than 7, and the solution is considered “acidic”. Decreasing the concentration below 1.0 x 10-7 M produces a solution with a pH above 7, and the solution is considered “alkaline” or “basic”.

pH is often used to compare solution acidities. For example, a solution of pH 1 is said to be 10 times as acidic as a solution of pH 2, because the hydrogen ion concentration at pH 1 is ten times the hydrogen ion concentration at pH 2. This is correct as long as the solutions being compared both use the same solvent. You can’t use pH to compare the acidities in different solvents because the neutral pH is different for each solvent. For example, the concentration of hydrogen ions in pure ethanol is about 1.58 x 10-10 M, so ethanol is neutral at pH 9.8. A solution with a pH of 8 would be considered acidic in ethanol, but basic in water!

What does drinking high pH water do to our health?
Among the people who question the validity of alkaline water, the biggest question is, “What happens to the alkaline water once it reaches the stomach, which is highly acidic?” People who have some knowledge of the human body, including medical doctors, ask this question. Let me answer that question once and for all to erase any doubts about the health benefits of alkaline water.

In order to digest food and kill the kinds of bacteria and viruses that come with the food, the inside of our stomach is acidic. The stomach pH value is maintained at around 4. When we eat food and drink water, especially alkaline water, the pH value inside the stomach goes up. When this happens, there is a feedback mechanism in our stomach to detect this and commands the stomach wall to secrete more hydrochloric acid into the stomach to bring the pH value back to 4. So the stomach becomes acidic again. When we drink more alkaline water, more hydrochloric acid is secreted to maintain the stomach pH value. It seems like a losing battle.

However, when you understand how the stomach wall makes hydrochloric acid, your concerns will disappear. A pathologist friend of mine gave me the following explanation. There is no hydrochloric acid pouch in our body. If there were, it would burn a hole in our body. The cells in our stomach wall must produce it on an instantly-as-needed basis. The ingredients in the stomach cell that make hydrochloric acid (HCl) are carbon dioxide (CO2), water (H2O), and sodium chloride (NaCl) or potassium chloride (KCl).

NaCl + H2O + CO2 = HCl + NaHCO3, or
KCl + H2O + CO2 = HCl + KHCO3

As we can see, the byproduct of making hydrochloric acid is sodium bicarbonate (NaHCO3) or potassium bicarbonate (KHCO3), which goes into blood stream. These bicarbonates are the alkaline buffers that neutralize excess acids in the blood; they dissolve solid acid wastes into liquid form. As they neutralize the solid acidic wastes, extra carbon dioxide is released, which is discharged through the lungs. As our body gets old, these alkaline buffers get low; this phenomenon is called acidosis. This is a natural occurrence as our body accumulates more acidic waste products. There is, therefore, a relationship between the aging process and the accumulation of acids.

By looking at the pH value of the stomach alone, it seems that alkaline water never reaches the body. But when you look at the whole body, there is a net gain of alkalinity as we drink alkaline water. Our body cells are slightly alkaline. In order for them to produce acid, they must also produce alkaline, and vice versa; just as a water ionizer cannot produce alkaline water without producing acid water, since tap water is almost neutral.

When the stomach pH value gets higher than 4, the stomach knows what to do to lower it. However, if the pH value goes below 4, for any reason, the stomach doesn’t know what to do. That’s why we take Alka-Seltzer, which is alkaline, to relieve acidic stomach gas pain. In this case, hydrochloric acid is not produced by the stomach wall, therefore, no alkaline buffer is being added to the blood stream.

Let me give you another example of a body organ that produces acid in order to produce alkaline. After the food in the stomach is digested, it must come out to the small intestine. The food at this point is so acidic that it will damage the intestine wall. In order to avoid this problem, the pancreas makes alkaline juice (known as pancreatic juice). This juice is sodium bicarbonate, and is mixed with the acidic food coming out of the stomach. From the above formulae, in order to produce bicarbonates, the pancreas must make hydrochloric acid, which goes into our blood stream.

We experience sleepiness after a big meal (not during the meal or while the food is being digested in the stomach), when the digested food is coming out of the stomach; that’s the time when hydrochloric acid goes into our blood. Hydrochloric acid is the main ingredient in antihistamines that causes drowsiness.

Alkaline or acid produced by the body must have an equal and opposite acid or alkaline produced by the body; therefore, there is no net gain. However, alkaline supplied from outside the body, like drinking alkaline water, results in a net gain of alkalinity in our body.

How do you measure pH?
There are several ways to determine the pH of a sample. The first, and most accurate, is to use a electronic pH meter.

The second, and much more economical method, is to use pH reagent fluid for water, and pH test strips if you are testing urine and saliva.

Oxidation Reduction Potential (ORP)

What exactly is ORP?
Oxidation Reduction Potential (ORP) is a measurement (in mV) of the tendency or the strength that indicates whether a solution is oxidizing or reducing (= deoxidizing).

Any positive number indicates that the solution is oxidizing; the higher, the more oxidizing. The same theory applies on the negative side, just in the opposite direction; the lower, the more deoxidizing. And of course, any negative number indicates a reducing or deoxidizing tendency.

When chemists first used the term in the late 18th Century, the word “oxidation” meant, “to combine with oxygen.” Back then, it was a pretty radical concept. Until about 200 years ago, folks were really confused about the nature of matter. It took some pretty brave chemists to prove, for example, that fire did not involve the release of some unknown, mysterious substance, but rather occurred when oxygen combined rapidly with the stuff being burned.

We can see examples of oxidation all the time in our daily lives. They occur at different speeds. When we see a piece of iron rusting, or a slice of apple turning brown, we are looking at examples of relatively slow oxidation. When we look at a fire, we are witnessing an example of rapid oxidation. We now know that oxidation involves an exchange of electrons between two atoms. The atom that loses an electron in the process is said to be “oxidized.” The one that gains an electron is said to be “reduced.” In picking up that extra electron, it loses the electrical energy that makes it “hungry” for more electrons.

We also know that matter can be changed, but not destroyed. You can alter its structure, and can increase or decrease the amount of energy it contains - but you can’t eliminate the basis building blocks that make things what they are.

Chemicals like chlorine, bromine, and ozone are all oxidizers. It is their ability to oxidize - to “steal” electrons from other substances - that makes them good water sanitizers, because in altering the chemical makeup of unwanted plants and animals, they kill them. Then they “burn up” the remains, leaving a few harmless chemicals as the by-product.

Of course, in the process of oxidizing, all of these oxidizers are reduced - so they lose their ability to further oxidize things. They may combine with other substances in the water, or their electrical charge may simply be “used up.” To make sure that the chemical process continues to the very end, you must have a high enough concentration of oxidizer in the water to do the whole job.

But how much is “enough?” That’s where the term potential comes into play.

“Potential” is a word that refers to ability rather than action. We hear it all the time in sports. (”That rookie has a lot of potential - he hasn’t done anything yet, but we know that he has the ability to produce.)

Potential energy is energy that is stored and ready to be put to work. It’s not actually working, but we know that the energy is there if and when we need it. Another word for potential might be pressure. Blow up a balloon, and there is air pressure inside. As long as we keep the end tightly closed, the pressure remains as potential energy. Release the end, and the air inside rushes out, changing from potential (possible) energy to kinetic (in motion) energy.

In electrical terms, potential energy is measured in volts. Actual energy (current flow) is measured in amps. When you put a voltmeter across the leads of a battery, the reading you get is the difference in electrical pressure - the potential - between the two poles. This pressure represents the excess electrons present at one pole of the battery (caused, incidentally, by a chemical reaction within the battery) ready to flow to the opposite pole.

When we use the term potential in describing ORP, we are actually talking about electrical potential or voltage. We are reading the very tiny voltage generated when a metal is placed in water in the presence of oxidizing and reducing agents. These voltages give us an indication of the ability of the oxidizers in the water to keep it free from contaminants.

What does oxidation or reduction mean to our health?
The consumption of oxidized foods and beverages tend to affect unfavorably the chemical characteristics of the body fluids. Many foods and beverages are highly oxidized and devoid of electrons.

Likewise, the addition to one’s diet of negative hydrogen ions, which are found to be especially high in organically grown vegetables, tends to affect the body fluids in a favorable manner.

Naturally, the ORP value varies quite widely between the foods and beverages. Considering you want to avoid oxidizing your body internally as much as possible, it is important to make a constant effort to eat and drink of which ORP value is on the negative side. However, unfortunately, the majority of what we eat and drink have positive ORP values, often quite high.

Many of you might be disappointed to know that some of the worst (the most oxidizing) examples include alcohol beverages, soda, meat, which ironically represent the most popular.

Also, some interesting comparison can be made on the freshness of the food at different stages of the product cycle.

For example, a freshly squeezed orange juice shows an ORP of usually around -100mV while most of the packaged orange juice show as high as +200mV.

How do you measure ORP?
An ORP probe is really a millivolt meter, measuring the voltage across a circuit formed by a reference electrode constructed of silver wire (in effect, the negative pole of the circuit), and a measuring electrode constructed of a platinum band (the positive pole), with the pool water in between.

The reference electrode, usually made of silver, is surrounded by salt (electrolyte) solution that produces another tiny voltage. But the voltage produced by the reference electrode is constant and stable, so it forms a reference against which the voltage generated by the platinum measuring electrode and the oxidizers in the water may be compared.

The difference in voltage between the two electrodes is what is actually measured by the meter. Modern ORP electrodes are almost always combination electrodes, that is both electrodes are housed in one body - so it appears that it is just one “probe.”

Incidentally, the meter circuitry itself must have very high impedance (resistance) in order to measure the very tiny voltages generated by the circuit.

What is the typical ORP value of drinking water from a Water Ionizer?
While the actual ORP varies depending on the source water, it is generally anywhere between -200mV and -800mV. Anything below -800mV is considered too strong for human body to take internally, and therefore not recommended for drinking.
